Registration Costs

Delegate registrations are all-inclusive, meaning full and student delegates receive all conference amenities, as well as enjoy daily (five) breakfasts, daily (four) lunches, the banquet, opening and closing receptions, and snack/coffee breaks during sessions.

Prices are in US Dollars, collected using Paypal.

Delegates need to arrange their own travel and lodging. As a reminder, no online reservation booking at the Symposium Venue, the Banff Park Lodge, can be made after Wednesday August 30, 2023. So, please book your room as soon as you can.

*Student Delegates

For students, including from developing countries, to qualify for the student rate, you must send documentary proof that you are a current and full-time student at a recognized educational institution.

Documentation could include your unofficial transcripts, your current semester course enrollment, a letter from your supervisor or other department/university official, etc. Please ask us if you have any questions.

You will be considered a student if you are enrolled as a student for most of the year 2023 (i.e., at least until the end of December 2023). Email the Organizers with your information.

**Delegates from Developing Countries

For Delegates attending from a developing country, only current residents of countries determined to be a Low Income according to Group A and B of the WHO HINARI and Research4Life List (listed here), or of India, are eligible. Email the Organizers with your information.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be notified in writing, by email. 
Substitute delegates will be accepted without charge.
Cancellations received before 16 July 2023 will receive a full refund, less $50 administration fee.
Cancellations received from 31 July 2023 until 30 August 2023 (45 days prior to the conference) will receive a 50% refund.

Registration refunds will not be issued for cancellations received after 31 August 2023. 
In the event of force majeure, ISEB-ISSM have the right to postpone or cancel the event.

About us

The International Society for Environmental Biogeochemistry and the International Society for Subsurface Microbiology teamed up in 2005 for their first joint symposium in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. This 2023 gathering of both societies will be the  2nd joint symposium, but separately will be the 25th symposium for ISEB and the 11th symposium for ISSM.
