Symposium Program
From scientific sessions and invited speakers, to social activities and business meetings, all attending Delegates to the 2023 Joint Symposium of ISEB and ISSM will have a range of formal and informal opportunities to learn, listen, and interact. A full schedule of events is planned!
Scientific Program
The Scientific Program includes keynote, plenary, and invited speakers, as well as volunteered Delegate oral and poster presentations. Sessions will seamlessly link the Joint Symposium themes of both organizations.
NEW - the Final Program
Student Awards
A panel of judges will evaluate student oral and poster presentations to award top prizes for research presented at the symposium. Also, any early-career biogeochemistry investigator or student may compete for the Wolf Vishniac Memorial Award, presented by the International Society for Environmental Biogeochemistry.
ISEB Business Schedule
ISEB will have executive committee, international board, and membership meetings throughout the week.
ISEB Executive Board will meet early in the week (Monday evening), followed by a meeting of the Executive Board and International Advisory Committee, likely during a meal later in the week (e.g., lunch). The purpose of these meetings is to decide the next group of Committee members, elect/re-elect current members, and decide on the location of the next ISEB symposium. Finally, all NEW and OLD members will participate in a Society Meeting, Friday morning, before the plenary and farewell reception. Please plan on attending, as your registration includes a 2-year membership with ISEB!
ISSM Business Schedule
ISSEM will have executive committee, international advisory board meetings, and other events throughout the week.
The ISSM International Committee will meet during the morning, before the sessions begin, although the day is yet to be determined. The purpose of the meeting is to introduce new members and decide on the location of the next ISSM symposium.
